Hello all -
It's me again. Still OCD about my new-to-me 318ti!
I need to get tires all around and pretty quick too. The tire size is 195/65 R15. The car has 3 totally beat Michellins on it and one good Firestone Affinity LH30. Price is a concern... and so I've been watching all my local tire shops for sales. I don't want to rip myself off by getting junk tires! But if I can swing it, holding onto an extra $100 right now would be a very nice thing.
Does anybody have any opinion about Sumitomo or Hankook tires? These are two brands that I could have installed and balanced for around $350 on a store special. I am only finding company propaganda on these when I try to research them online. I've heard of Sumitomo but not Hankook, a Canadian brand. They each have a 60,000 mile warranty and are H-rated.
I could also go the route of buying 3 Firestone Affinity LH30s to match the almost new one that is on the car now. Installed these three would cost me $350.
Are these tires -- sumitomo, hankook, firestone -- unworthy of BMW status? I'm in Illinois so snow driving is a concern. I am looking for a good all-season tire -- all three of these are supposed to work in all weather. Is there a tire you would recommend?
Thanks so much for your help!
