I am waiting for my '06 325i and was wondering how long it normally takes from order date to delivery? It is Arctic with premium, sport & nav. My purchase date was 9-26-05, in Atlanta. What are some specific items I should check and have the dealer demonstrate before I drive off the lot? After I ordered it I decided to get satellite radio but the sales guy said it was too late but they could install it at the dealer, for $700. Can I get an aftermarket that will display on the nav screen? Thanks for the great threads on this site and any helpful responses. By the way, I haven't owned a BMW since I sold my '77 325i 20 years ago. Now the kids are gone and I get to play again.

I cannot tell you how long the wait should be, and your dealer should show you all the features before you drive away. Read the manual, when I read mine I discovered all kinds of questions that I wanted to ask. Welcome to the board, sorry I was not much help!

I believ eyou can track your car online at bmwusa.com but ive been told by a few people that they were driving their cars for almsot a week while online was saying that the car was still crossign the atlantic ocean.
Last Monday the salesman told me it was leaving the port on Saturday and being shipped to his store. Then I got a call Thursday saying they had the car. Anyway, I picked it up Friday and put a couple of hundred miles on it this weekend. I noticed one thing that kept bugging me. The digital speedometer reading on the console does not reflect the accurate speed. I had to keep going into idrive to reset it. Kind of a minor issue but I assume I can have it recalibrated. Anyone else have that problem?

Digital speedometer on the console? I'm not that familiar with the '06, but in my car the speed reading on the onboard computer is an average speed, not the actual speed I am going. Do the new models have digital AND analog speed displays?
