3 beeps

I have a 1986 325e and I hear a series of 3 beeps coming from a small box located on the panel beneath the steering wheel. It could be when im driving slowly or romping on it, or going straight or around a sharp turn. I have a Haynes manual which is pretty useless and makes no mention of any beeps or what they could possibly mean. I would appreciate any insight or ideas on this matter.

So I'm guessing that thanks wasn't sarcastic?? Pretty rude way to act toward people you don't even know. If someone doesn't know the answer then you may not get a response. Deal with it, or else you better leave every forum you've ever joined.

NOT! I found out from other sources that the beeps ocurr at one minute before the hour. I have disconnected the box.
Hey if you would have posted this in the E30 forum - which is where it belongs (cause you own an E30), it would've been seen by a few very knowledgeable people. The hour beep is set by hitting the S/R (or Set) button when you are viewing the clock on the OBC. No reason to remove the gong. I bet you're a baggy pants.

whats wrong with the haynes manual?
The Haynes manual is not nearly as detailed compared to the Bentley manual. But I wouldn't call it worthless. I have both, I always go to the Bentley manual first. If something is not clear or seems wrong (which is unusual, but the Bentley DOES have a small amount of bad information in it) I cross check it with the Haynes Manual.

My opinion is that if you buy only one manual, Bentley is the best, but Haynes is a decent backup.

Chill "badboy". As was mentioned, you posted in the wrong forum, and you didn't get an answer because of that - no one who knows the E30 read your post in BMWNewbie.

You're welcome to hang out here, but loose the attitude.

I had the haynes for my e30, and it was COMPLETELY worthless. If the information wasn't 100% clear in the bently it was clear in DIY articles online that are found by a simple google search.
