I recently saw a 3.25 BWM with 100K miles. This bimmer gained over 60k of those miles just last year (in 14 months). Would it be worth buying? I must say that the price is quite attractive. The are no engine leaks and the exhaust pipe is squeeky clean.
Thanks.

I looked to check that it was not new. I don't believe it's new. But there was water coming out of the exhaust after I drove it. There was none of that black soot you normally find on the tail pipe. I think the exhaust is the original.

I guess what I'd like to know is whether 60K/year is too excessive for bimmers.

well with some others i got to disagree with you on too much driving or an overdose, my dad drove around that same amount of milage every year, now spread on multiple cars, but when he used to only drive a 323i it was all concentrated on that car, if it was highway miles (which it has to be since that would be too insane on regular roads) then its fine, the car would still function well (we went 120,000 miles on the freeway in the 323i before changing the original tires)...as long as they were mostly highway miles it should be an okay purchase, and probably you can get a good price

i agree w/the enthusiast.

my dad is a chevy/gm man (tahoes & blazers). he also owned a few mobile winshield repair franchises. he would easily put 60k on in a year.. maybe more & a lot of that was on the streets of denver. his SUVs would also be the family vacation car & we would drive as far as south carolina, washington state, & illinois. the worst problem i can remember him having, was having to change a transmission in his current yukon. other than that, he was religious w/routine maint. (he used to be a mechanic). he always told me that if u take care of your cars they will take care of u. i think the milage he sees out of vehicles that are not known for their longevity is proof.

if the car was taken care of & u like it.. i say get it.
