'97 528i with a Cracked Front Spoiler

Got the car 4 days ago. Second day, I parked it in a space and ran the snout up over the sidewalk. Winced, knowing I would have to reverse. Yup. Cracked the spoiler or "air dam" under the front end.

Auto shop says must replace entire lower bumper. Want to keep the car Mint, but I'm not rich.

Can anyone offer me any suggestions?

used parts is my only suggestion. Find one already in your color.

I wouldn't think it would be too much to repair/replace. Your talking about the bumper cover right? Should be $200-300 for new cover and installation. Doesn't sound like there is serious damage.

I was hit fom behind at stop light by car going 20-30 mph. Cost to repair < $1000.

Sorry... the $200-$300 is for the bumper cover. Installation will be a bit more, but it shouldn't be that bad. Unless the front bumper cover is more complicated.
