Actual Paint color ?

A quick hello to all....New Bmw owner here..this board looks to me as if it'll be a great source of very useful info....Just bought a 2000 528i Sport E39 . I was wondering if there is a place I can use the vin and/or serial to find out the Actual paint color etc. of my car. Hell...it Looks Silver to me..

I can't speak definitely for the 5 series, but the color on the 3 series is on a sticker under the hood, at the left strut tower.

You can use the VIN at the bmw owners circle site and it will give some information about the car - not much but it will include the offical color. There is a link to it on bmwusa.com
