Is the 1 series coming to (or should I say going to) America. I know that small cars don't seem to be as popular in the US but every review of the 1 series in the UK say 's it is the defining car in it's class in terms of drivability, lacks some practicality but that wasn't what is was designed for. Knocks spots of the Golf V and still ahead of the Audi A3. My test drive is due in a few weeks so I will see how it fairs against my MINI Cooper.

I have read in various magazine articles that the European manufacturers believe US buyers are "anti-hatchback" and that they do not sell. From all I have read, the 1 series "hatchback" or "3 door", as they are called here, will not be available. We will get the 2 door and 4 door models in another year or two.
