BMW club for Calgary AB?

Anyone want to start a club in Calgary AB Canada let me know and we can hang at my house until we get big enough. I am new to BMW but old to the wonderment of German cars (on my 7th VW now). Just love to drive and all things that go with it. Also I am importing BMWs from Japanese an most are under 80,000KM (49709.7miles), are rust free and go through air care every two years. And it is cheaper then you think. Just one thing you need a connection. Japanese people seem to only want to deal with people that they have personally met and have a relationship with. I lucked out, my wife is Japanese and her brother got us a contact over there. Only bad thing is that manual is hard to find. Any interest in either, post me and we can get together...

That sounds great, too bad I don't live in Canada. You have those cars coming in from Japan because they're not allowed to keep cars (or at least the engines) for more than 50,000 miles because of strict emissions laws, right?

hey, Shon, if i ever go out to VC for a snowboarding trip or something, i'll be sure to look you up. hopefully you'd have a nice sized club by then. what's your take on the hockey sitution. (sorry, course i'm assuming you care about hockey, because you are from canada, but i'm in the hockeytown, so you gotta figure i wanna hear other's thoughts on it..) and good luck on your new business!!

In JP. you are allowed to have your car running for as long as the car can run. The reason for the low milage is simply because people don't use them as much. In addition there is some sort of emission control called "Shaken" which is very expensive and starts at the end of the 3rd year from the time the car first leaves the dealer. After doing this first one, the following controls are due every 2 years so those who can afford a good car try to get rid of them by the end of the 3rd year or before that, to save themselves from all that trouble.
