[???1] Hello, I am new to this forum and also a new owner of a 330iZHP. Just curious, my ZHP comes with Bridgestone RE040 tires. Any other ZHP got the bridgestones on? In the F1 program, the BMW main rival Ferrari is using Bridgestone, anyone know why BMW uses Bridgestone? Also BMW indicates that the ZHP should comes with Mechlin.

No idea what the ZHP is supposed to come with, but I doubt BMW goes exclusively with just one brand. They're prolly like Mercedes and other manufacturers and just have a certain batch of cars go with a certain batch of tires. Personally, my car came with Dunlops. Come to think of it, if Bridgestone is what Ferrari uses for F1, then why do their road cars come with Pirellis some of the time? I don't think what the F1 program contracts to use has anything to do with what the manufacturer puts on their road cars.

Thanks, codex57, You are right. Actually, just realize that BMW only stated what size of the tires will come with the car. All the magazines said it comes with Mechelin. Sorry for the confusion.

the E39s came with michelins and continentals, same with the previous E46's. And bridgestone's are good tires, so i wouldn't worry friend.

hey, found another poor soul w/ the re40s..

i much rather have pilots, but eh, i'm sure i'll be out of the re40s in couplea seasons. by then there should be better tires.. if not i'll go w/ the expensive pilots, or goodyears.. can't remmber the name, but it's rated 1 over at tirerack.com

as for bmw w/ differetn tires, it's matter of what they have in hand at the time of car production, since they have multiple tire vendors. michellin is the biggest, but i've seen conti's and bridgestones also.

I am happy with the bridgestones, and I saw couple of the Z9 with bridgestone RE040 tires on. But at the bottom of my heart, I prefer Mechelin.

Is Natto 555 good tires? I saw them on a M3 and they look pretty cool.
