Confused/angry Bmw Owner

Hi Guys,

I need your feedback..I bought a 2000 323 I/auto..about 2weeks ago..the car is running fine but once in a while I'm getting a red light indicator..its a round red circle with an ! sign inside..I've reviewed the users manual and apparently its a transmission malfunction..and once I stop the engine the sign goes away..and comes back periodically..I've consulted with the dealer and was advised ..without the sign on..they can't do anything??I'm very frustrated..please help..

I'm pretty sure the circle with a ! inside is the handbrake (E-brake) sign. Jiggle the lever a little while you're driving, my bet is that the light will flash on and off. I'm sure your dealer or any mechanic for that matter can fix that for you.

I think the DSC light is a circle with a triangle inside.
