In the market for a BIMMER

I am a newbie, so go easy on me. I am in the market for a CPO bimmer. Was looking at the 2002-2003 5 series, but a little out of my price range. Started looking at the 2002-2003 3XI series. any advice would be appreciated ie: price range, which model etc.... Thanks in advance.

Why the XI? You need awd? Or will a set of snow tires do it?

Otherwise, not much to say. Nothing to really warn you about btw various models and trim. Any probs in the 3 series are pretty much universal. Get the bigger engine if possible. more fun to drive. Don't worry about the mpg cuz they're basically the same.
