Hi everyone, been looking around a lot at the different forums etc, and I like this one so here I am. I just purchased my first BMW 325i 1989 4 dr sedan, from my neighbor, He was the original owner, and had all his work done at the dealer. The fun part is he loved the car but put a lot of work miles on it (160k). So he put it in storage in his garage, would get it out on occasion and drive it to keep the cobwebs off it. Every once in awhile I would bug him and ask when he was going to get rid of his BMW, I alwas got a vague answer. I found out through my wife who had talked to him that he was discussing selling it at his work to one of his employees. I walked over to him and asked what he wanted for it, the rest is history. I have put a couple grand into it just bringing it up to par, replacing timing belt, water pump, fan clutch, emergency brake cables, converting the A/C to R 134 and more if I thought about it. But now its a normal Bimmer that will out run anything in this town. Which I have had the occasion to prove. Particularly when getting on an on ramp and the dummy behind me wants top run over me. They have't yet. I plan on leaving it stock but I want everything to work and like everyone else it does certain things that drive you nuts for example the obc goes crazy, sometimes I can get it to settle on the temp. The outside needs a great wax job, the alum around windows needs polishing, etc .
So with your kind permission I will hang around and maybe ask questions , and if I'm lucky one day I will be able to answer some. Oh by the way, I wish I had this car from the day it was new. See a all Rev Tom Cox [bmwdance]

Welome to the aboard the board Rev. Tom! We are happy to have you here and most here know the feeling of their first BMW purchase. Once you are hooked there is no going back. BMW's for life now...hehe

You are more than welcome to hang out and ask as many questions you like. That is one great thing about this board you can ask questions without the worries of getting flamed. In no time you will be answering them as well, especially since you are doing a lot of work to your car at this time.

Post photos when you can of your car, because all of us on this board would love to see it. Anyway welcome and make yourself at home.....
