Hey guys, this is my first post here so I would like to introduce myself :) ... Anyways, I have just purchased a 2002 325i with 41k miles on it. I got a Bumper-to-Bumper warranty on it and it's a Steptronic Automatic transmission. I was wondering what are some modifications you would suggest for the car that wouldn't void the warranty? I was thinking getting the chip that will uncap the speed, exhaust, intake, etc. Anyone have any opinions? Where would you buy these from? Any ideas are welcome, thanks for all the help in advance!

PS: How do I install my headunit in this car? I have a Pioneer head unti with a Sirius tuner and the stereo system in this car is much longer than any head unit I have ever seen.

Here are some pictures of the car from the dealership:

WOW! That thing looks very clean. Sorry I don't know much about upgrades for your model. I know the audio in our car's isn't the best but you can do a nice upgrade without swapping the head-unit leaving a stock, clean look.

Congrats and welcome aboard.

Nice car, it looks great. Chiping a car does not remove a speed limiter, it anything it raises it as well as the rev limiter. As Richard says they have to show that the modification caused the failure. Most reputable aftermarker suppliers are accepted by BMW and have no adverse effect on your warranty.

Hey, I'm new myself and am still awaiting the opportunity to buy my first BMW. I'm looking for a 530i, but I have to say yours looks VERY nice! Congrats, and have fun with it.

Thanks Stealth 71, yeah I'm very excited to be a new Bimmer owner :) .. good luck on your search .. you'll love it when you get one I'm sure.

Another question I had was this... a friend of mine pointed out that there was a bump on my rear left tire. It almost seems like golf ball size bump sticking out of the tire.. is this dangerous? I drove about 500miles this weekend because I went to another state and nothing happend so I dont know if it's an emergency fix that I need or what.

Also.. any insight on my head unit problem?

Yes the bump on the tire is a seperation and the tire should be disgarded. Take it to the dealer and tell them you want a new tire. The head unit is a question for the dealer or Pioneer.
