I just wanted to drop everyone a line to say what a great site this is. I have had my 2001 525i for about six months now and can't believe what a joy it is to drive. It is the first car I have ever owned where the most menial task or errand is made enjoyable just because I get to drive the car. I have been able to pick up some great advice on things such as how to keep my rims clean and whether or not to buy brake dust covers from this site. I can't wait for this Ohio winter to end so that I can take my 15" BMW rims w/ snow tires off and go back to my 17" BMW rims to get the real handling and performance that made me fall in love with the car when I first bought it. Thanks again for the great site.

Hey web17 your very much welcome! We are glad to have you as well and remember it is the members who make this site so great. As far as winter being over, I am with you, let's end it so I can go driving again.

welcome aboard Myron. as much as you might not like having those 15s on, aren't they a life saver? w/ the temps being in the singles to teens for over a week, i'm sooo glad i decided to get snows. sure they are some what of a hassle, but its all worth it for the piece of mind.

e39s are nice, and you don't see too many alpine whites. do post some pics when you get a chance. (i should do the same.. 900 some odd posts later, still no pic of my car... *shaking my head...)

The snow tires have been great, especially with the winter that we have had and all of the snow fall. There have been several times where I have been coming or going to work and the expressways were not plowed - I have yet to have any problems getting to where I need to go. They have turned my car into a tank in the snow.

Once the weather clears up and I can detail the car, I will post some pics.

We have to hook up sometime.

Im glad you decided to buy a bmw, i made a bad choice buying a volvo instead of a 91 318i that i loved but cost too much. 5's are such comfortable cars.. but the E60s are kinda too large for me ( the seats). lol
