Hi, I am new to this board and have a few questions I hope you guys can answer for me. I just got a 2002 M5. I have always been a Porsche girl, but I needed something that I could use as a daily driver as well as a track car. I want to be able to connect my 5 point restraints to something without having to put in a full roll bar or cage. Does anyone know if they make just a harness bar for the M5? Secondly, I have fairly little feet and I am having a hell of a time trying to heel toe in this car. I learned side to side and don't really want to have to re-learn, but these pedals are so far apart that my foot can fit between them. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!! [wave]

Welcome to the board! If you attend any BMW CCA High Performance Driving School someone will be able to help you with both your questions. You do not even have to "take" the class, just attend as a spectator, it's free and you can learn tons!

Thanks guys. Speedwares motors say they have harness bars comming soon, so I may wait for them. I checked BMP design, but I already have 5 points, just need something to attach them to. I have a track event comming up on Monday, but I think I will take the 993 for it's last time since it's already set up for the track. Good idea on asking the guys at the BMW high speed school. They usually come to town in the spring to LVMS. I have ran with them the last couple of years. Nice group of people. Does anyone know if it is possible to move the pedals closer together on the M5?

I don't have a 5 series, so just taking a guess based on other cars. I doubt it can be done easily. Usually the brake and clutch pedal are part of a hanger assembly that is tightly fit and not moveable.

I have seen this problem addressed by notching, bending and rewelding the brake and/or clutch pedal arm to get the exact setup someone is looking for. You take the pedal out, cut notches in it, put it back in, bend to fit and check clearances, and then take it back out and weld it. A good body shop could do this for you for a few hours of labor.
