Hi everyone!

I'm not really that new here, but I have never actually introduced myself or my car yet. Haven't had time to wash her and snap any pics 'till now!

I gave it a quick wash when I went away this weekend, so it's not looking it's best. I've been a BMW owner for 6 years now, getting my first 1986 325e off of my uncle in 2000, and my second 86 325e off my friend in 2004. This is my first BMW I've owned that didn't need hours of work and thousands of dollars in parts on it to get it road worthy. She's my 1991 318i convertible, and I love her! There are a few broken pieces of moulding, and a small tear in the passenger seat, one small rust spot, lots of stone chips, but other that that, it's in fairly good shape. I just clicked over 223,000kms. All I've really done to it so far is put in a Blaupunkt/MB Quart stereo, MOMO pedals, steering wheel, and shifter, K&N filter, and a set of really old Eagle Alloy rims. I have a Dinan chip, but haven't had time to install it, and there are plans to get a full 10 points for a Dinan badge.

I've done many jobs on BMW, more as a necessity to learn how to do it myself because paying a mechanic was costing me too much. I've learned as I go, and found myself a good parts guy near my work. I've gone from simple brake jobs, to doing new suspension, new exhaust, and even swapping out a M20 that was burning oil like crazy. I'm not affraid to try anything any more, other than maybe rebuilding my engine, doing rear subframe mounts, and a clutch job. I've torn down two parts cars, partially for the parts and partially to learn how everything works.

So, I've been here for few months, and I hope I've been a little bit helpful, as many of you have been helpful to me. I enjoy this forum, so thanks for having me... I hope to be here for a while!

[cheers]

Hi, Scott.

New here myself. Got a 1999 328IS just a couple of months ago. Haven't had a chance to do much. Spent most of my time wrenching on a 1994 Mazda Miata. Hope to transfer some of my skills over to the Bimmer. Gonna need a hot wrench to help me out. Hope you will help from time to time.
