Hey whats up guys, im pretty new when it comes to driving bmw's, but ive saved enough and thought it was time to get a bimmer. I was hoping for an 04 325ci and im going in for a test drive today.

What should I be looking for/asking the dealer while test driving the car?

Just drive the car and make sure your comfortable with it. Test drive a 330iC too. It costs alittle more, but it has more power. I'd even try out an M3 while I was there (just for fun).

Thanks for the suggestions guys, its actually funny, i loved the ride of the 325i...driving felt like i was 'one' with the road, as weird as that may sound. But, I also started considering the x3, about the same price of a coupe, and a ton of more room, all wheel drive (for the northeastern winter), and it looks hot...so i think im gonna go with the x3...im giving myself a few more days to completely figure it out, but the x3 to me looks like the better deal, and the perfect balance between practicality and style...what do you guys think?

i like the X3, when we purchased my 325i it was basically a 325i vs the X3, the only reason i got a 325i is becuase i was able to get it fully loaded while i was getting the X3 just with the standard stuff, but if i was given both cars, both fully loaded, i would go with the X3. I have done the X3 on skid pad and high speed manuevers at a BMW driving event and i love the feel and ride of that car and it is very roomy

The X3 is a nice vehicle although I wouldn't get it with the 2.5 liter I6...just a little slow for my preference.
You could survive the Northeastern winters in a 325Ci if you get snow tires for the winter and it will be a better machine (in terms of performance).

I've also read some bad reviews on the x3's suspention. Car and Driver said that it felt really rough and almost TOO tight on bumpy roads. And that little plastic pieces were shaking and rattling around. But maybe that was just the first model....

If you think it's hot, then I think it's a good deal. The X5 is horribly inefficient in terms of interior space. X3 is just about as big for much less money. I never really considered it cuz I think it looks hideous, but looks are personal preferences.

Hahaha, actually, the hardest part is just about to start. You know you actually have the car, but it's not coming for a while. This may be mean, but I'm gonna let you know you can track the status of your car and see if it's shipped yet. Calling the 1-800 number isn't too accurate from what I remember. You can either bug your dealer and see if he'll look it up on the computer, or I think there's a website to see if it's shipped yet. You need your VIN though. Don't be glued to your computer too much. :)
