I'm pretty sure this button stands for Dynamic Stability Control, but I have never fiddled with it.

What is its purpose? What does it do when I press the button to turn it on (a green light)?

Where and when should a person use this?

Someone explain this to me! [burnout]

Any info. will be helpful, thanks!

DSC regulates the power and braking of the individual wheels during a loss of traction. Basically, it helps keep the car under control. If you are a more "spirited driver" and you turn it off, the difference becomes immediately apparent.

Basically, it's a good idea (for you and your car) to keep it on. If you are a more experienced driver and looking to have some fun with your car, turn if off and play.

By the way, when the green light is off, the system is on. When the green light is on, the system is off, also indicated by a yellow exclamation in the dash display. If you press and hold the button with the system on, the DSC will be turned off followed by the DBC (dynamic brake control) being also turned off. Also, when the system is on and becomes active, the yellow light will flash indicating active intervention by the DSC.
