newbie questions

I just bought my firsy BMW. A 2002 325i. I have a few newbie questions.

I would like to know the official name for the color of the car. It is kind of green/grey metallic. (kind of sea foam)

Also I was wondering the displacement and HP rating. I know a 325 is supposed to be a 2.5l. But I also know that is not always true.

Finally I am curious if any one can tell me the "advertised" 0-60 time for a car with steptronic tranny

Welcome aboard, the 325 is rated as having 184 hp. The advertised 0-60 is roughly 7.1 seconds.

If the color looks like this:

Then your car color is Oxford Green Metallic.

Unfortunatly my car is a much lighter color. Kind of blue/green/silver.

Do you also happen to know if the 02 325 is actually a 2.5l?

Is it possible your car color is Seafoam green. I dont know official e46 color codes, sorry.

Yes the car is kind of metalic sea foam green. I am curious if that is the official name for the color.

I think it tells the color on the driver's side (?) shock tower when you look under the hood. It's probably in German, but you should be able to figure it out. It's printed on a little metal plaque.

I just looked at the BMW website. The car is really close to the current Artic Metallic. It's hard to tell though. Did they make that color in 2002?

You can call BMW USA and give them your VIN number they'll be able to tell you what options you have as well as the official color of your car. You can also join the BMW Owners Circle(there is a link on the website), it requires a VIN to sign up and will automatically give you the model and official color once you sign in - if you'd rather not call someone

I love 3 series wagons, it kills me to get passed by them on the autobahn (which happens everyday)

I think I need to change my gearing ratio. There is no excuse for me to get beat by a 184 hp wagon in my 300hp Mustang (topend that is) I will eat just about any Bimmer (save M series) off the line.
