I have a 1990 535i with about 230,000 miles on it (great car). The exhaust system has finally given up and I need to replace the front and rear mufflers. Wondering if anyone has any information/reviews of the various parts suppliers. Whats better? Eberspaecher? Ansa? Bosal? Does it make a difference?

Thanks

I've heard of Ansa and Bosal, but I haven't heard much about them. Don't seem to be very popular with the crowd I hang out with. I don't think they really make much of a difference. If they're cheap, then just pick one that sounds the best if you can hear a sample car. If they're kinda expensive, go with a bigger name brand like AC Schnitzer, Alpina, Eisenhaus, Remus, etc.

Yeah i would say that, with anything in this world, you really get what you pay for. There's a reason why the BMW exhaust system lasts for such a long time. I reckon go with AC Schnitzer since they're recognised by BMW and prepare to fork out a bit of cash - it'll save you the hassle and money in the long run.
