Hi I just got my 2004 325xi. I had an Acura TL-S. The Acura six about a smooth as an engine can be. I love the bimmer but the engine seems to sort rumble when you are accelerating or cruising over 100 Km (60 Mph) . Is this normal BMW ?
Try using higher octane gas if you are not already doing so. It could be the AWD system, that would probably make it a little less smooth, but even my bmw is decently smooth. Explain what kind of rumble it is.
I am using the highest octane fuel. It is an automatic so it is in 4 th or 5th it seems to be around 2300 to 2500 RPM. It is sort of an engine growl with a little vibration?
Are you positive it's coming from the engine? BMW's engines and especially the automatic tranny's are super smooth -- not always the quietest, but I've never heard too bad of a growl with a vibration.
