Left for the gym this morning with 3" of snow on the ground.

Fifty yards later I turn around and very slowly drive back home to change cars !!!! Borrowed my wifes 325 xi wagon.

I found it b4 it was too late the stock tires are useless in snow.

As soon as I got to work I ordered a snow tire package on aluminum rims (see pics) should be here next week

sweet deal dude. I know my car got stuck in a half inch of snow on a perfectly flat driveway with my summer tires on, and getting seperate wheels was a good idea. now you can swap them out at your leisure.

It's all in the tires dude. [thumb] I seriously considered getting the xi because the past few years on Long Island have seen some wicked snow falls. But I didn't want to give up any of the RWD qualities so decided to go with the regular 330i and a set of Dunlop winter sports. No regrets at all. The Dunlops ride smooth, quiet, handle great, and the snow has not been a factor at all. Great looking wheels by the way.

I got Nokian Hakk's - they should work OK

I'm looking forward to some rear wheel drive fun in the snow when I get the snows on

for the past 6 years I've been driving Audi quattro's so it will be like starting over !!!!!

I have a 95 325ic and until this year only used the car in dry weather, I am now using it year round, as I have a sport package wheels/tires I have always avoided wet weather but now that I am using the car more I was thinking about putting a snow tire package on but as we only get an occasional snow fall I was wondering, how does the car handle in dry weather with snows? (I would obviously change back to the sport wheels/tires once it warms up).

Winter tires are not only designed for snow. They are made of special silica material, so the tires will stay soft even below 0 temperatures and provide good traction, compare to summer tires.
Yup, and if anybody is stupid like me and is running Pilot Sport's in the winter, you'll know that below 30 degrees F, since the Pilot Sports just do NOT warm up, they offer terrible traction even on dry roads. Even if you don't get that much snow, you're better off with snow tires anyway as I'm willing to bet my Pilot Sport's that the Wintersport M3's or Blizzak LM-22's are better than Pilot Sport's in the cold no matter (dry road, wet road, SNOW, ice, etc.).

Anyone have any leads on any used mounted snows for sale? (I would prefer somewhere in the Northeast so I can pickup) Thanks.
