stupid question.. installing a new cluster trim, help with this?

installing a new cluster trim on a orig. 87' 325 (e30) one..



cluster is already out and sitting on the floor in my room, took the back screws off.. and i don't wanna mess anything up. can someone help me with this? or show me a guide for my cluster to do this replacement?

As far as I can tell, (I've looked at how to do this on one of my spare clusters) You've got to pry the clear plastic face off, which is difficult because it's just glued on. However, it is poorly glued on in some cases, and it is possible, but you should go slowly, and try to cut around the glued seam with a razor blade (knife). taking the back of it appart wont help at all.

Best to use extreme caution when removing the clear plastic cover off!
Use a sharp blade to run around the seam of the plastic first then use a wide flat blade screew driver to lever off the clear bit by bit, the plastic is quite fragile so take your time.
I will also ad, that that fake carbon fibre shit looks like rice, iv'e seen that on ebay.

Hi there Doughnut...

You should see the new 2007 M6 that came to the dealership near me...
It's whole roof is made of carbon fibre... looks hot in my estimation.
