Evo a supercar? I don't really consider the Evo VIII to be a supercar. This isn't a bashing of the car, because I happen to like them. I would never own one, but they are cool. I just don't see them as being a supercar as someone posted in that thread....

That is funny though...

There's a problem with the MAF on the EVO. If a loud car or motorcycle revs their engine next to the EVO, the MAF freaks out and the car stalls.

I think they said knock sensor was the cause.

And to think, the EVO's usually kill the WRX's in the drag shoot-outs. Wait til the WRX guys get a hold of this info. [hah]

Thats such a drag, I like the EVO 8, very great car, awsome in the sense that the EVO 8 MR is as fast if not faster than an Lamborghini (See. Top Gear). I was either thinking that the reason for the shut down was maybe it got interferance from the other cars spark plugs or something but there all insulated from giving off EMF so meh. I guess maybe the knock sensor is really sensative seeing that is the problem. Its really a great car, I wouldn't mind owning one :p

They tested the european version which has around 400whp, the US version has something like 250?

Yeah, the Top Gear episode was a 400hp Lancer EVO VIII. The one we have in the US puts out 276hp. The Lancer EVO is a great car, the only problem it's awful when it comes to safety (and that's an understatement).

good ole evo 400 0-60 in 3.5 secs, but it also drains a full tank of gas in 114 miles.. full tank of some ridiculious octane level racing fuel! iirc from the top gear vid, it gets like 4mpg.. but you get 202.5 hp/ liter!!

for 47k pounds, i can get an m3 right? i'll take mine in imola
