After some simple answers to simple questions regarding OBD.
1) Is it the cable or the software/protocol thats either OBD2 or EOBD?
2) If i'm looking at buying a BMW 316 or 318 registered between 1997-2000 in the UK which one would I buy or does it matter? (I want to use the OBD tools to help me decide if a BMW has no faults before commiting to buying.)
