which internet forum is the best?

i am new to BMW. i have been browsing back and forth and sometimes its hard to keep track where i have post a question. so here is a thought and feed back from you folks who have been out there for a while.

1) DTMpower
2) bmwboard (biasy is ok, but at least let me know why its better. thanks)
3) bimmerforums
4) bmw-forums

and i believe there are a lot more and if you do believe non listed here are better pls post up

I don't think any one is the "best", it depends on what you want, expect and are comfortable with. In other words this is a choice you are going to have to make based on your personal preferences.

1&3 the guys over there are more for tuning and modifications .

Exactly, each has it's own 'perks', characters, and 'theme' (and I don't mean the layout..). Don't forget E46fanatics.com if you have a 99+ 3 series. That's the ultimate tuning site imho for E46's. bimmerforums is a good place to find local bmw folks to your location. BMWboard here is the nicest gang of bimmer owners imo, you generally won't get bashed around for asking innocent new questions as you might in other places.

It's all good, I keep recent on a few of them, good reading and you can generally get a concensus of opinion if you ask a question throughout all of em.

i am obsessed with our forum, just because we are almost a big family. But i check roadfly for info, and rarely bimmerforums cause of attitudes, but good solid info.

www.germantechnik.com is hilarious, but in no way is it work safe. Specially the Off Topic forum. Here's a sample post I copied and pasted (by Anonymous_FTP):

...since my ordeal w/ the toilet this morning didn't go as planned. I woke up to a nasty rumbling in my stomach and decided that I had to go drop these Hiroshima's in the bay. Everything was going cool. My timing was spectacular.......! At the exact moment that I put my naked bum on that wooden toilet seat, the 6-inch length/1.5-inch diameter "bullet of love" was halfway out my ass already. I look down to see what the hell I had just unearthed. I found an undigested corn nut lodged in the side of that haymaker. It was that corn nut that was scraping my ass. Now I have a band-aid over my asshole, and I came to relay this message to my fellow members....

....Ranch corn nuts are bad, bad, bad!

This is one of the best. On the few times I have looked around at others I noticed a less respectable crowd. Despite our topic and off-topic debates, and some that really get opinionated ,the group here is very respectable.

Question: Is there any difference at all between bmwboard.com and hotbimmer.net? I always log on with the latter and saw reference to bmwboard here so I logged on (thinking I would find another good site) and saw everything looked the same except the title on the home page. Just curious.

The only other forum I have been to that I get useful information from is bimmerfest but overall I find this site to be friendlier.
