The good thing about Iceland is that you don't have to worry about going off the road and hitting a tree b/c there are virtually no trees, except up near Hallormstaðarskógur in the east and Vaglaskógur in the north.

Well yeah, almost no trees here, but there are other things to worry about,
like steep drop offs, or lava fields, they can mess you up pretty good too ;)

Hello and [welcome] the photo of that shadowline is way cool. So great to have such a diverse group of members. Get to see so many cool cars and hear about exotic and interesting places. Hey, maybe this board will be the answer to World Peace! [werd] [wave]

bahnstormer i bet
how's teh v12? any trouble with it? how many miles on it?

The v12 is doing very well, no problems so far, it has 223.000 km on it, no miles here ;)
Only thing that happened is that the radiator died on me the 2nd day it was here in iceland, i brought it from germany in late september 2003, got it registered and got the licence plates for it 1 okt 2003 ;)
OH and the weirdest thing..... I drove it around quite some bit when i was checking it out, and it was FINE, and i picked it up from the ship, and had to pick up the licence plate, and so on, and when i got it out of the city limits and was getting close to like 140 km/h the frame around the window (the metal lists around the front windshield) just blew off, just like that .....
I have no idea why, how, what happened or anything.... I thought "holy crap probably the frame is twisted" but the windshield is 100% in place, and it shows no other signs of it, and so weird that happened after the boat ride, not when i was driving it abroad...

Yes indeed they are.
I have all theyr albums, i´m not exactly a fan, but i do love listening to some of theyr music every once in a while.

And cool that your thinking of coming out here,
great country great people, great partying ;)
Only bad thing is that you need to have LOADS of money if you want to do something here.

Welcome, trying to get stationed for a short tour at Keflavik, been wanting to go there for a few years. My buddies say it is nice, but expensive. Don't they have alot of off road hill climbing races off there, last time I remember....If I do head out there, not shipping the BMW convert......would probably do more damage to it than I need to.[;)]
