I don't remember what it is exactly but now kerosene does sound weird. It could be alcohol, I'll ask my dad (he remembers it, I think) when he gets home if I don't forget to do so.

Methanol? Ethanol? Avgas all forms (this is aviation fuel)? Do these sound familar?

You don't want to put methanol in you gas - it'll kill you fuel system pretty quickly.

Ahh the revival of an acient thread. Chevron, and Costco mostly for me and my autos. I have never had a fuel related problem, but than again I use Redlines SI-1 Fuel Injector Cleaner reguarly.

I stick with the name brands Chevron, Unocal-I asked this question before and that was the recommendation.

Chevron exclusively...if I happen to get stuck somewhere and can't find a Chevron then I'd do a Shell or QuikTrip

You all talked about chevron so switched. I did fill up at the 76 gas stations but you all convinced me to change to chevron price was a couple of cents more expensive but its so cal and its always expensive.
