Welcome to gf44108!!

Franky -

Go to BMWUSA.com and and you can browse and build a configuration to get an idea of what you want. Then go to your local dealer with your information, sit down and talk about it, and place your order.

[driving2] hey all,

Am newbie. Want some info on how to go about ordering a BWM. Am looking for a BMW again. Would appreciate info.
Research for invoice price of the car and options that you want on Kelly Blue and Edmunds. Create a order sheet using word or excel listing the invoice prices in one column and the MSRP in another column. This is similar to the Rizzo Method. Fax the order sheet to as many dealers within your travel range with your address and telephone number. Dealers who are intested with call you with their offer. Take the lowest offer. Expect around 3 percent over invoice for a 2004. I used this method here in Ohio with 14 dealers and received 7 offers. I paid 3.29% over invoice including options. If you are planning to buy, get your financing from a source other than the dealer. You get a better interest rate. I used Capital One Financing.

I hope this helps.

Hope you have fun with it.[thumb] I imagine you will be driving it quite a bit and having fun, post some pics when you can, but in the main time, drive the sucker and put some good break in miles on her.[thumb]

Performance Center Delivery (bit long)

[:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D]

Received delivery on Friday January 16, 2004 of my 2004 Mystic Blue BMW 330xi. I cannot stop grinning. [driving2] After receiving MY2004 I drove 1114 miles to Cleveland, Ohio. I have to say this car is the AWESOME ULTIMATE driving machine. Drove from the Performance Center to Virginia Beach, Ocean City, Washington DC, Pittsburgh and to Cleveland. Drove on the interstate highways, state routes, secondary roads and some back roads. Drove on dry, wet, slush and snowy pavement. Whatever I wanted MY2004 to do it responded. I got home last night Sunday January 18, 2004.

The Hotel was great. I got treated like a king. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch. The hotel driver drove my wife Susan, John (Silver Gray M3 delivery) and myself in a X5. The driver gave us tour of the area (Greer, SC) before going to the Performance Center.

The Performance Center is an awesome site. The building is very modern. Meet our Delivery Specialist (Willie) and our training instructor (Ben). They are First Class people.

We did the training first. It took about 2 hours to complete with the track. Delivery was for only 2 cars. Ben raised our confidence in the BMW brand. The class emphasized on proper seating position, braking/handling and the physics of our cars.

On the track, we drove like mad men and woman. Ben had us understanding how to look ahead and anticipate where we were going. We did emergency braking while trying to avoid an accident. Ben showed us how to decelerate before going into a curve. We also learned how to the weave thru the cones. We did the skid pad with and without DSC.

The museum and factory tour was awesome. I know a little about manufacturing, BMW takes manufacturing to a new level. I was impressed with how the welders never have to bend over or reach over their heads. They have a machine that spins the chassis over and lowers to the welders.

The delivery was great. Willie went into great detail of all the features of MY2004. The prep center did not put on the front license tag holder. Willie went over to the tech center and had the techs to put it on with the license tags and covers. I also got a pleasant surprise; the mirror has the homelink integrated. But I did not order homelink. Also, my BMW Assist is not working because of a shortage parts. BMW had a letter with the MY2004 stating this, and when the parts are available the dealer will install them. BMW gave me an additional year of free BMW Assist service (2 years free).

[thumb] [thumb] I highly recommend doing the Performance Center delivery. It was a great experience. [thumb] [thumb]
